In 1986, three renegades of retail opened a small shop on the backside of Specialty Shops on the Park in Charlotte. Based on the idea that the world offered more innovative styles of dress than those being offered by local haberdasheries, Glen Taylor, Richard Pattison and Lyn Conger set out to revolutionize the menswear business in Charlotte. By offering clothing designed in Europe and collections new to the area, they were able to present a fresh take on how men should dress. And the men of Charlotte took notice.
It's understandable that Taylor Richards & Conger has changed quite a bit these past 30 years, but in some respects it remains very much the same. Take a look at our staff and you'll see many of the same faces you've come to know over these many years. The TRC philosophy that a successful enterprise should consistently create a positive customer experience for men and women is the same as it was in 1986. And to that end, TRC W, our shop for women, was added in 2005.
